Endless Winter

-Diary of a drowned spirit-

Walking through midnight she's empty and alone,
Searching the night, to him she's unknown,
Passing him by she's lost in his eyes,
But her feelings for him remain in disguise.

Without a dream for tomorrow or hope in her mind,
She walks to her fate where relief she will find,
She sits on a bridge, her life is a blur,
And she waits on edge, hoping he'll save her.

She watches her tears drop as she cries,
Feeling the sting as they stream from her eyes,
Every night she waits for his warm embrace,
To keep her from falling from disgrace.

But tonight she stands up and leans on the rail,
Her wrists are bloody, her skin is pale,
Unsteady and uncertain she sheds a final tear,
Then closes her eyes and whispers, "I wish you were here..."

With shaking hands she stands on the ledge,
Waiting for something to push her over the edge.
Looking down she watches her breath as she exhales,
And at that moment her entire life derails.

Looking down at her arms all covered in blood,
She watches each slit bleed out like a flood,
Letting go of the bridge she takes a breath in,
And leans forward as her head begins to spin.

She hears his voice as she begins to black out,
It starts as a whisper, but turns into a shout,
And as she falls through the icy cold air,
She realizes that he really did care.

She watches him walk over and look in her eyes,
And touches her hand while every tear dries,
Reflected in him she sees her fate that night,
And realizes he joined her so they could reunite.

-Diary of a lost soul-

His eyes are blank and his hair white with snow,
His body is cold, he has nowhere to go,
Sitting on a bench as weathered as his heart,
Lost in life, he prays to depart.

A shred of humanity hides within his mind,
A girl whose life is just as confined,
He watches her pass him without a care,
She doesn't know he wont always be there.

Everyday he watches her walk by,
But he can't find the courage to even say hi,
His only hope of her ever loving him,
Fades each day growing more and more dim.

He sees her sorrow he feels her pain,
He knows the blood that flows from her vein,
She's stained with scars identical to his,
But tonight he'll speak to her where ever she is.

Searching in the night, his mind set on her,
Running out of time his surroundings are a blur,
Going as quick as he can, he prays that she'll wait,
And that when he finds her it wont be too late.

Off in the distance he sees her standing on the rail,
But he shouts her name refusing to fail,
He trips on the curb as he continues to call,
But only to look up and watch her fall.

In his despair he runs to where she fell,
And looks down while trying to yell,
Swallowing hard he climbs over the edge,
And closing his eyes he dives off the ledge.

***

He stands up from the bench and walks to her,
Taking her hand because now he is sure;
Looking her deep in the eyes at a spirit long drowned,
He kisses her lips as they collapse to the ground.
